About the author (2006)

Randolph M. Nesse (MD) is Professor of Psychiatry and Professor of Psychology at the University of Michigan. He is Research Professor in the Research Center for Group Dynamics at the University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research, where he directs the Evolution and Human Adaptation Program. Camille B. Wortman (PhD) is Professor of Psychology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She is head of the department's Social and Health Psychology Program.
