History of the life of Swen Hopkins Jacobs; Son Of Swen Johnson and Sarah Sophia Hopkins Jacobs

"Sven Jacobson and his good wife, Anna Johannah Johnson Jacobson dwelt in North Aasen Norway. They had two sons: Christopher Sven Johnson and John." They immigrated to the United States in 1830. Sven died after two years leaving Johannah and their three sons. Some time later she met and married Andrew Anderson and then moved to La Salle, Illinois. At this place they heard for the first time the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and were baptized in 1842, going west with the saints in 1849. At this Swen went to California to seek his fortune, however was unsussesful and returned. in 1853 he married Sarah Sophia Hopkins
